Step 1: Get your Talkie ready to pair

Unzip the pouch, pull out the Talkiebox and remove the battery door with a screwdriver

Insert 4 new AA batteries
(used ones will not work)

Warnings!
  • Only the outer fabric skin is washable. Unzip and remove the Talkiebox when washing.
  • Do not put the Talkiebox up to your ear as the dB level is calibrated to be heard through the skin.
  • Choking hazard: Not intended for children under 3. Talkies have part that may dislocate.
  • Only connect kid’s toys to other Toymailers you know and trust.
  • Children should get parental permission when using our app services.
  • Only operate the toy indoors under adult supervision. Assemble and set up with an adult too.
  • Pairing a toy to WIFI involves flashing light. Seizures or blackouts may be triggered by flashes.
  • Do not chew, or place near liquid. Be gentle. Talkies are sophisticated electronic creatures.
  • Do not take apart your Talkiebox or remove its internal components.
  • Do not operate if damaged, and/or fix if broken.
  • Rechargeable batteries are recommended.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadium) batteries.
  • Insert batteries using the correct polarity. Remove batteries after long periods of inactivity.

Step 2: Download the free Toymail app

Download the app. Choose one:

You will use the Toymail app to:

1. Connect your toy to WIFI

2. Send and receive voice messages with Talkie

3. Manage contacts and send friend requests
to those you want to message with

Step 3: Get your phone ready to pair

Close all other apps on
your device

Set screen brightness
to maximum

Disable power save mode on
your device

Ensure your device is connected to the same WIFI network you will connect your Talkie to

Ensure your router is ready for pairing to:

Your WIFI router should be
set to channels 1-11.

Step 4: Pair your Talkie to home WIFI

Go to settings in the app,
select “ADD A TOY” and
enter in your home WIFI
password.

Ensure the status LED is blinking on the Talkie box. Place the opposite side of the Talkiebox (the side labelled sensor) on the phone screen, facedown.

After successful pairing, the status LED on the Talkiebox will pulse green for a few seconds.

Put the Talkiebox back in the toy, making sure the battery door is facing the back of the toy.
